There is much interest in the field of sound healing regarding the specific healing nature of certain frequencies. In particular, there’s much interest in what are known as the Solfeggio Frequencies, as well as some others.
Our September 2024 Sound Satsang focused on the “Solfeggio Frequencies.” Andi and I did this presentation because of the interest in these frequencies—in their origins as well as their healing ability and because I, Jonathan Goldman, was the first person to actually manifest the numbers that initiated this sequence into sounds (via tuning forks). I felt it was time to present some information I had received and experienced through them. For those interested, please check out this video.
In our presentation we mentioned the research of Dr. Glen Rein, one of the foremost scientists working with DNA who had just before our Sound Satsang, contacted us with some of the results of his tests with CD recordings of different frequencies that I had sent him.
Dr. Glen Rein, a bio-chemist whose research in biomedical science includes work at Harvard and Stanford Medical Schools, is studying the effects of different frequencies and mantras can have upon this “building block of creation.” In a private communication, he shared with me his latest research. Here is some of the more in-depth information presented to us by Dr. Rein.
He wrote:
“In these experiments, human DNA was extracted and purified from human placentas, suspended in distilled water and exposed to various types of music by placing the test tube of DNA in front of a speaker. Original experiments measured the conformation or shape of the DNA molecule. Since DNA is a double helix, its shape can best be measured by determining to what extend the two strands that make up the helix are intact. Dr Rein has previously shown that the winding and unwinding of the two strands of DNA are highly sensitive to a wide variety of energies.
In previous experiments done several years ago, hard rock music, classical music (Mozart), Gregorian chants and Sanskrit chants were played to DNA. In these experiments, rock and classical music had no effect on the shape of the DNA molecule, but both Gregorian and Sanskrit chants had a significant effect to unwind the two DNA strands. Such an effect would have a beneficial effect on proteins that are trying to bind to the DNA (part of the natural healing process) because they will bind easier and stronger if the DNA is partially unwound.
In the recent experiments done with Jonathan Goldman, we measured the effects of the sounds generated by tuning forks. The vibrations of tuning forks have been studied by physicists and such studies have revealed they have interesting mechanical and acoustical subtle behavior. In particular, the sound of a tuning fork contains not only a fundamental frequency but also generation of a second harmonic. Second harmonic generation is a type of sympathetic resonance which exhibits quantum properties. Furthermore, tuning forks have both symmetric and anti-symmetric and non-linear modes. The biological effects of sound generated from a tuning fork is rarely studied by scientists.
In our experiments we generated and recorded the sounds of a single-frequency tuning fork at 528 Hz, and the entire series of frequencies in the Solfeggio scale. These were recorded in a loop onto a CD and played back directly to the DNA as described above. The results indicate that 528 Hz had no effect on DNA, despite several scientific publications indicating that this frequency has physiological and biochemical effects. Thus, these effects are not mediated by DNA and assumedly by some other mechanism.
Then we recorded the sound of all nine Solfeggio frequencies played sequentially in ascending order by nine different tuning forks at these frequencies: 174 Hz, 295Hz, 396 Hz, 417 Hz, 528 Hz, 639 Hz, 741 Hz, 852 Hz, and 963 Hz. This recording was set in a loop, transferred to a CD and played to the DNA. The experiment was repeated and the averages calculated. This recording produced a 79% decrease in the electrical conductivity of DNA. Even more interesting is when we exposed the DNA to the same set of frequencies, recorded in the same manner except now in descending order, there was only a 7% decrease in conductivity of DNA. So, ascending frequencies are much more beneficial to the human body- at least for Solfeggio frequencies. Whether this is true for all other series will require further research.
Along with previous research by Dr. Rein, these data allows us to conclude that human DNA suspended in water is a good model system for studying the biological effects of different types of energies. It can also be concluded that DNA is highly sensitive to these energies and responds to most (although not all) energies tested so far. In the body, DNA is usually complexed with proteins and its aqueous environment is far from pure distilled water. Nonetheless, the results of these and other experiments indicate that the DNA molecule itself (independent of its environment) is highly sensitive to different types of energies.”
Summary: In the tests that Dr. Rein did with my recordings of tuning forks, he found that the single 528 tuning fork seemed to have little effect while the ascending sequence of Solfeggio Tuning Forks had a huge effect. The descending sequence of these tuning forks seemed to also very little effect.
I particularly find this data interesting since my award winning recording of “HOLY HARMONY” which features this ascending sequence of Solfeggio Tuning Forks (along with an ancient sacred chant for the Christ Energy) has received amazing feedback from people who have utilized it for meditation and healing since its release back in 2002. This was the first research done on the ascending sequence.
Andi & I utilize this recording for a number of different phenomenon. My latest personal investigation is using the sounds on “HOLY HARMONY” to positively resonate with water.
