Kutira & Raphael are internationally musicians and teachers of high consciousness. Born and raised in Switzerland, Kutira Decosterd traveled at the age of 21 to India and Nepal, where she studied with yoga and tantra masters. In the West she explored cutting edge psychology and combined the teaching of East and West into a teaching called Embodied Spirituality. Her strong background in meditation, breath work, NLP, Hakomi, Bioenergetics, and non-violent communication (NVC) has made her an internationally known and accomplished teacher and seminar leader. Raphael F. Sharpe is a gifted keyboard musician. Classically trained, he has a background in composition studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has performed in a variety of professional musical environments with many well known groups. Raphael has a unique talent for teaching deep and profound eastern and western techniques in a simple, clear and common sense way. “His Music To Disappear In” (Volumes I and II), on the Hearts Of Space label, is known worldwide as a premier evocation of the new alternative healing movement. Other albums include “Angels of the Deep”, “Music for Love”, “The Healing Light of the Amazon”, as well as a CD with his wife, Kutira, entitled “The Eternal Feminine”; and “Never Give Up” (from the Tibetan tradition) with his adopted Tibetan son, Tenzin.

Together, in 1985 Kutira and Raphael founded the Kahua Institute in Hawaii, which features workshops utilizing music, yoga and many other modalities to achieve blissful states of consciousness.
